Unfortunately, due to demand for a place at Wesley, we are only able to invite shortlisted applicants to an interview.
For first-year students, all rooms are allocated by staff. Returning students are able to choose their room for the following year.
For new students, there is a $2000 acceptance fee and $3000 deposit payable before your place is guaranteed. Then, there are four main fee instalments, as per our Fee Schedule.
No, however, you must be accepted into an undergraduate degree at USYD, and strong academic performance is viewed favourably.
Yes, at Wesley, most rooms have shared bathroom facilities. A small number of rooms have ensuite bathrooms.
No. Wesley does not offer a non‑residential or affiliate program.
No. Applications are assessed holistically, and offers are made in several rounds throughout the admissions process. Submitting an application early does not guarantee an offer or an earlier outcome.
You need at least one referee, and they should be school‑based. Suitable referees include a subject teacher, principal, careers adviser, or pastoral care teacher.
Applicants planning to take a gap year are asked to apply for Wesley during their gap year rather than before it. We will be keen to hear about your experiences after school!
Historically, applications open in late April and close at the end of October.
No. Wesley College offers undergraduate accommodation only.
No. Applications are generally for full-year (40-week) positions only.

At Wesley, scholarships are awarded based in financial need, merit, and location (with preference given to those from rural and regional areas).
Wesley offers scholarships ranging from $3,000 up to full fees.
Scholarships are awarded as a discount off residential fees, with part of the scholarship applying to each semester. Scholarships are not awarded in cash.
Scholarship applications open around the middle of each year, and close towards the end of November.

Preference is given to students who need accommodation the most, which typically includes those from rural and regional areas, as well as others from outside Sydney.
No. We are a diverse community welcoming students from all religions and backgrounds.
The size of the first-year cohort varies, but we generally have 90-110 places available each year for new students.
No. To live at Wesley College, you must be a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Sydney.
No. You can apply to Wesley before you have been accepted into the University of Sydney. We can reserve a spot for you pending your USYD offer acceptance.
