Over the weekend three Wesley Old Cols shone brightly as members of the Australian Rowing Team competing at the World Rowing Cup 2, held in Poznan, Poland.
In her debut international regatta, Lucy Coleman (Fr 2019), represented Australia in the lightweight women’s double scull. In this hotly contested Olympic Category boat, Lucy and partner, Anneka Reardon, showed they will be definitely a crew to watch leading into World Cup 3 and the World Championships. Their tenacious rowing throughout the regatta culminated in a silver medal in the A-final. An outstanding result for a debut performance.
Tahlia Barnet-Hepples (Fr 2018), another senior international debutante, took up the coxswain duties in the Women’s Eight, joining fellow Old Col, Emma Fessey (Fr 2015), who sat in the stroke seat. Emma, who has previously medaled in this boat class for Australia, set up a strong rhythm that earned a Bronze medal for Australia this weekend.
Huge congratulations all round!
