Foundation Medal Dinner 2016

On Monday 5 September we welcomed over 60 Old Collegians to share in a wonderful evening of celebration for Gill Campbell (f 79), Ray Ison (fr 71) and Vice Master 87-89, Taani Taufa – College Chef 1978 to 2004 and Greg Urwin – posthumous (fr 64).
We were honoured to have family and friends of all recipients in attendance.

Congratulations to all our 2016 Foundation Medal Recipients:

Gill Campbell (nee Cull) – fr 79Gill is a Wesley rower, Olympic Rower and pioneer Australian sportswoman who has dedicated her career to the support of women’s rowing, particularly at school level.

Taani Taufa – Dedicated College Chef for 35 years (1978 – 2004)Taani is a much loved part of the Wesley family and a major contributor to the Culture and well being of the College for over three decades of students.

Ray Ison – fr 71 and Vice Master 87-89Ray is a distinguished academic and has worked on every continent in a wide range of situations from examining future opportunities for small farmers in our poorest countries to a whole of Europe approach to managing water and catchments through to writing a book on climate change.

Greg Urwin (posthumous) – fr 64Greg was a senior Australian diplomat in the South Pacific region for over 30 years, holding senior positions including Ambassador to Fiji, Ambassador to Nauru, High Commissioner to Samoa and High Commissioner to Vanuatu.
