LONDON and US reunions

Hosted by the Master, Lisa J Sutherland, a group of Old Cols came together for a drink and bite to eat in various locations; including London, New York, Washington and San Francisco to share memories and updates on life and work since their time at Wesley.

London

The Master hosted this event at the Institute of Company Directors in Pall Mall on Tuesday, 27 June 2017.

The reunion was well attended by some now long-time London residents, as well as some new Old Cols to the London scene. There were 15 attendees, across 5 decades of college life. It was a diverse mix of memories and updates on current life and work since Wesley.

It was especially interesting to hear about the experience of some of the Old Cols who are currently completing study at Oxford University.

Overall, it was an enjoyable night and a wonderful opportunity to connect with everyone; provide an update on current college life, and focus on our important Centenary events and  Scholarship Fundraising in our 100th year.

New York and Washington

The Master hosted this event on the rooftop of The Refinery Hotel on Thursday, 6 July 2017.

For the first time, we had a good size contingent in New York in July to host a function. It was a very enjoyable to see so many come along to enjoy a very New York night on a rooftop!

The group of Old Cols and College supporters that joined us covered 3 decades and included a member of the Cull family, who resides in New York and was able to join us for this Centenary get together.

It was the perfect setting and the weather was wonderful for a relaxed get together for Wesley.

On Sunday 9 July, it was very lovely to catch up with Old Col, Danielle Roosa (fr 1989), in the famous Round Robin Bar at the Willard, in Washington DC.

San Francisco

On Tuesday, 11 July 2017, the Master met up with 4 Old Cols at The View, in San Francisco for drinks and nibbles. It was a great setting (see view in picture below).

It was lovely to catch up with recent Old Cols from my time as Master, as well as Old Cols from Dr Udy’s and Dr Whitehead’s era.
