Wesley College Council 2019 Election of Councillors

Nominations are now being sought for the 2019 election of College Councillors. The role of the Council is to determine and oversee the implementation of a long term strategy for the College and to work with the Master to ensure the effective management of the College.

The Council consists of eleven Councillors, six of whom are elected from time to time by the Voting Collegians. Three of these positions are designated as “Church Members” ie persons who regularly attend the Uniting Church in Australia. The other three positions are to be Old Collegians, or two are to be Old Collegians and one is to be a current member of the University of Sydney administration or teaching staff.

Council meets at least six times per year, usually on a Thursday evening from 6pm to 9pm at the College. In addition, Councillors will usually serve on at least one Committee (Business, Investment, Scholarship or Foundation), which meet from two to six times per year at the discretion of the Committee Chair.

At the upcoming Council Election, there is one position in the Old Collegian category and one position in the Church member category open for election.
